Dreamboat is a 1929 Hackercraft 29′ Dolphin Deluxe Runabout. It is 1 of only 9 original examples of the Dolphin Deluxe line in existence today. This Dolphin Deluxe is powered by a Kermath Sea Wolf 225 Hp.678 ci ,overhead cam 6 cyl motor. It is 1 of 30 of this model known to be running today.
Dreamboat was delivered to Spring Lake in Michigan in 1929. In 1940, it was purchased by Aben Johnson, President of Hasting Mfg., makers of piston rings and other automobile parts. The boat remained in Michigan until 1997 when it was purchased by Mark and Helen Evans.
Dreamboat is currently being preserved at Jim Murdock’s Vintage Boat Restoration with originality in mind. The boat has 99% of the original wood, from the waterline up.
2011 will be the debut season for Dreamboat after 40 years. She will be shown and used regularly on Lake Winnipesaukee.
